Tentative Grand Opening and Open House is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, with first day of school tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 2. Tremendous progress has been made due to the great efforts by the landlord, Ash Properties, their construction managers, the sub-contractors and their trades. All final inspections have been passed with flying colors with the exception of the COO (Certificate of Occupancy) due to the permanent interior doors not being ready from the vendor as scheduled. However, we have received a TCO (Temporary Certificate of Occupancy), which will suffice for licensing purposes until the permanent doors come in mid-September. Now the real fun begins with state and local licensing for childcare purposes.

This coming week we expect the finishing touches to the construction to completed, along with final playground construction. Also due onboard is the classroom furniture, office furniture, appliances and computers. Early next week we should see the manipulatives and supplies for the classrooms. The director has been onboard at our Deerwood Park campus for several weeks. She is a very experienced, dedicated and energetic lady with a solid reputation in the local childcare community. The assistant director also has been onboard for about a month as has been the school nurse and many of the teachers. All are very experienced and will form a Gold-Medal team for The Magellan Academy at Durbin Crossing.
