THE MAGELLAN ACADEMY, an Indo-US Corporate sponsor and winner of pre-school academic excellence awards year after year, is pleased to present our new school in Jacksonville’s Southside area.
This new state-of-the-art facility, joining the highly regarded school in Deerwood Park later this summer, is located in the rapidly growing area at Old St. Augustine Road and Philips Highway (near Baptist South hospital), and has a capacity of 250 children. THE MAGELLAN ACADEMY at Durbin Crossing features such Magellan Academy staples as a school nurse; free internet cameras; hot breakfasts, lunches, and snacks prepared fresh daily on site served in our clean dining room (food served in classrooms is unsanitary); clean, bright classrooms sanitized daily; hospital-grade ventilation and water filtration systems; computer lab; library; a well-trained, educated staff and so much more.
THE MAGELLAN ACADEMY is currently interviewing dedicated, career-minded applicants for our school in Deerwood Park and at Durbin Crossing for the following positions:
Business Office Assistant
The successful candidate must possess an excellent work history of dedication, loyalty and commitment to children; strong attention to detail, business background, and computer experience. College a plus but not required. Honesty, friendliness and take-charge attitude are absolute musts. Background checks and credit checks will be run. Must have reliable vehicle. Will work closely with corporate staff in managing accounts receivables, receiving and posting parent payments, answering customer billing inquiries, making deposits at the bank, and other business matters of the assigned school. Will also assist the Human Resources Director in managing employee files. Full time 9am – 6pm and possibly some occasional evening work. Must be completely dependable and be on the job every day, rain or shine.
Lead/VPK Teacher
The successful candidate must possess an excellent work history of dedication, loyalty and commitment to children; CDA; AA degree or higher; and be willing to work hard, learn and advance. Must be current on DCF classes. VPK teachers must be qualified to teach VPK in Florida. Must have a giving spirit and be able to work well with parents and fellow employees alike.
Teacher
The successful candidate must possess an excellent work history of dedication, loyalty and commitment to children; be willing to work hard, learn and advance and achieve a CDA within a year (assistance available). Must be current on DCF classes. Must have a giving spirit and be able to work well with parents and fellow employees alike.
Teacher Trainee
The successful candidate must possess an excellent work history and be willing to work hard, learn and advance. Attainment of DCF classes will be a top priority. Must have a giving spirit and be able to work well with parents and fellow employees alike.
